They are millennial heritage, they are stories of the Mayab, the earth, the air, the water and the fire. Let's light together then the flame that symbolizes the land of the pheasant and the deer, their customs, their people, their songs and their dances, thus remembering our legends, our culture, inheritance of a wise people, of a people who live and vibrate in our hearts.
A unique contemporary circus show that presents a multidisciplinary proposal merging stories that are inspired by the Mayan cosmogony, as well as passages of texts of the Popol Vuh and characters from the stories of the ancestors, creating a fantastic montage that leads the public to an unprecedented sensory experience, alluding to these stories full of magic that are part of the cultural heritage, using as an element the circus arts presenting acrobats, actors and dancers who develop acts in the air and on the floor showing modernity and avant-garde without losing the essence of the Mayan roots.
Characters such as Juun Ixim (the creator god), Ix K´ik´ (The blood lady), Kukulkán (The feathered snake), among many others, will take us to an unexpected world and surprise you through beautiful costumes inspired by haute couture, visual effects, live percussion and many other elements that make this show an experience.
Leyendas del Mayab presents 5 scenes that tell some of the best-known stories such as: The man of corn, the Xtabay, the aluxes, the hanal pixan and the legend of Nicte Há. Using circus arts as an element presenting 26 artists on stage including acrobats, actors, singers, musicians and dancers who develop acts on the air and on the floor with costumes and a spectacular stage.
